Downsview Park is probably the best place to see owls in our area in winter. Last year, during learn4life walks, we found four species.

With that in mind, I drove to Downsview this morning and looked in all of the most likely spots. No luck. I will schedule walks here for January and February and, hopefully, some owls will appear.

OWL QUOTE
“The crow wished everything was black, the Owl, that everything was white.” ~ William Blake
Miles Hearn
Many thanks for photos of owls that you didn’t see yesterday, but are delightful in their diversity of expressions… I laughed out loud and… as always, for photos that help me slow down and see the quiet beauty all around us that it is so easy to walk past and ignore
I sure hope I get to see owls this winter! If not, I know there will be many wonderful buds and other things. I sure hope they haven’t been completely scared away (the owls, not the buds!) I also hope to see a Snowy Owl at Col. Samuel Smith park. Well, there are no guarantees, of course, but I sure hope there will be pictures at least! But yeah–I wanna see the owls. It’s a “major attraction”!
