Every time I visit Col. Sam Smith Park in the month of November I especially hope to see four different species of birds. I have seen each here in past Novembers but each only once or twice. Their migration paths occasionally but seldom bring them this way. Here are some photos I took of them in previous Novembers.
Purple Sandpiper:

Snow Bunting:

American Pipit:

Lapland Longspur:

NATURE POETRY
In slack wind of November
The fog forms and shifts.
All the world comes out again
When the fog lifts. – Christina Georgina Rossetti (1830–94)

We heard, but did not see, kinglets on the weekend, so I am glad to see your confirmation. Three weeks ago we saw flocks of 10 or so in St. James cemetery, but now the flocks are gone. Just an occasional kinglet straggler left.
Thanks for the report!
those birds from last year are so beautiful…..thanks Miles
