There are five species of swallow found in eastern North America. All five can be found in the Toronto area in spring and summer.
This morning at Humber Bay I came across a single tree which had about 100 perched swallows.
There were Tree Swallows,
Barn Swallows
and Rough-winged Swallows.
Many Tree Swallow nesting boxes have been added here this year:
Several birds were gathering nesting material:
Red-necked Grebes have already made nests on the man-made platforms:
and fish are being found:
