Deer, Turkeys and a Saw-whet / Final Day Long Lens : January 2021

Today was my last with the rented mirrorless camera and long lens so I returned to Lynde Shores near Whitby. My hope was to find the Wild Turkeys that are often here.

Success!

During my last visit I photographed some deer far out in a field:

Today, a few approached:

As if this wasn’t enough, a Northern Saw-whet Owl came into view. These little creatures are about 8 inches tall.

So beautiful Miles! What Wonderful creatures to watch . I was glad to see the Wild Turkeys and everything on the photos. Do you find the mirrorless camera better than the regular DSLR? Best regards, LB

Wow, what an amazing set of photos. All so sharp and clear..you were very successful with your sightings both through the lens and in the field.
Can’t believe the woodpeckers too also eating out of your hand. Loved the little owl and deer!
    Thanks for sharing.
Think you should keep the equipment! Lol.

Absolutely fantastic! You made an excellent choice for your final day!
I think there is more than a little suspicion going around that you just might be inclined to–well, as one person put it, “go shopping”. You handled it like a complete pro! I don’t know what this stuff costs, but…if it’s too much right now, then I suspect you will be renting it again, sometime, anyway. What an experience! Thanks, Miles!

Valentines Day is coming. Go ahead and drop the hint. And if that doesn’t work, do what I do. I just go and buy it for myself. So get that camera and we will continue to enjoy your fabulous photos!

Hello Mies – I agree with all before me – just wonderfulj photos – just a very special series. Loved the cross eyed saw-whet – all of them but that was as close as I have ever seen.
Thanks so much for sharing with your following.
