White-throated Sparrow at Edwards Gardens: January 2021

I went to Edwards Gardens looking for interesting botany and not expecting to find many birds.

I was, however, happy to come across a bird feeder which was much patronized.

On the ground was a White-throated Sparrow which clearly shows the bright white “eyebrows” and median crown stripe, bordered with black and bright yellow in front and above the eye:

WINTER QUOTE

Because the birdsong might be pretty,
But it’s not for you they sing,
And if you think my winter is too cold,
You don’t deserve my spring. ― Erin Hanson

Nice to see. Nothing at all seen in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery this morning. So disappointing that your winter sessions have been cancelled. I hope you continue to have good outings, nevertheless.
