Camborne, Cold Springs and Plainville: December 2020

Craving some time in a rural environment, I drove east toward Cobourg and then headed north where I had a great walk on country roads:

Song Sparrow nest

There were a few birds about:

Downy Woodpecker (male)
Downy Woodpecker (male)
Blue Jsy
Mourning Doves
Mourning Dove
American Crow

Some botany:

Hop-hornbeam (Ostrya virginiana)
American Beech (Fagus grandifolia)
Scouring Rush
White Ash (Fraxinus americana)
White Ash (Fraxinus americana)
Bitternut Hickory (Carya cordiformis)
Canada Goldenrod (Solidago canadensis)
Basswood (Tilia americana)
Lilac (Syringa vulgaris)
Lichen
Bittersweet Nightshade (Solanum dulcamara)

There are three villages in this area:

Old Camborne School
Camborne United Church
Presbyterian Church
United Church

    We are fortunate that there are many rural areas near Toronto. My girlfriend has relatives in Camborne near Hamilton.
