Tiny Owl found in 75 Foot Manhattan Christmas Tree

I love the story of an 8 inch tall Northern Saw-whet Owl which was discovered in a huge Christmas tree being erected in Rockefeller Centre in November 2020.

The owl was in the tree when it was being cut in upper New York State and travelled with it all the way to New York City.

One of the workers discovered the owl and put it into safety in a cardboard box.

A wildlife centre was then contacted and the owl was picked up.

X rays showed that no bones had been broken though the little owl had not eaten in 3 days. It was quickly given food and fluids.

The owl was safely released into the wild a few days later.
