After visiting this Quebec marsh in June, I looked up the word “grenouillette”. My source told me that it was a sort of invasive plant. However I don’t see this plant anywhere here and have decided that the word is an affectionate term for “small frog.” “Grenouille” means frog in French.
During this morning’s visit, small Leopard Frogs were constantly leaping in front of us. Northern Leopard Frogs earn their name from the spots that cover their bodies that resemble those of leopards.
