14 Warbler Species at Smooth Rock Falls: June 14, 2022

The Peterson Field Guide to Eastern Birds lists 39 species of warblers.

We heard 14 of them this morning on the Smooth Rock Falls survey. I write “heard” rather than “saw” because it is very dark when we commence and, even in bright daylight, it is difficult to spot 4 inch long birds who rarely perch for long in dense northern bush.
