Some Birds from Hilton Head Island: Leah Salvador-Ferrone

I recently spent two weeks at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina for March Break. It was an incredible place, birds of all kinds were everywhere! One highlight was an encounter with over a hundred Great Egrets, all in breeding plumage!! They were very busy building nests, displaying their plumage and mating (I couldn’t believe what I was seeing)!! Another highlight was two hours after high tide. hundreds of shorebirds feeding off the muddy shore, many of which I had never seen before.

Here are just a few photos out of so many. Thanks for letting me share my excitement with you, I hope you enjoy them too.
