Mallards hybridize with several other duck species including American Black Duck and Northern Pintail.
The version that we see most frequently is the cross between Mallard and the domestic Pekin Duck.
These hybrids have a bright white “bib.” I’ve been told that they are able to lead a normal duck life and to breed.
We saw this one today at Ashbridge’s Bay.
Every chance I get, I work at the skill of photographing flying birds.
The afternoon group was pleased to see this bunny who is brought regularly to the park for exercise.

Hi I just came upon this interesting yahoo ad about a company in Australia that makes metal birds–all types, all sizes. The fellow started this task/company as a commemoration to his wife who died of cancer. One can check out a website, place an order for your favorite bird and they will send it to you. I have not yet checked out this site but will do so later today.
The site is:

You cannot buy them at the mall,

I’ve ordered quite a few gifts from metalbirds.ca, and they’ve all been wonderful. In case anyone is interested…
