Red-necked Grebe Parent and Chick: July 2021

I’ve been visiting Humber Bay regularly to keep an eye on the development of the family that have occupied one of the nesting platforms.

Red-necked Grebes

This morning, one parent and a chick were out for a swim.

To see the twilight shadows pale,

    I got the mystery bird!
The pictures of the Red-necked Grebes are delightful. The Great Egret is magnificent (flanked by what seemed like attendants!) The Pekin duck and Mallard together were fascinating. Can they mate? This place is a good one for birds, ducks and gulls, as your pictures demonstrate. Thanks, Miles!
