Little Rouge Creek: January 2021

I love this part of Rouge Park because you can walk right beside the Little Rouge Creek:

The trails were very icy and I was happy to have my grippers:

American Robin

I learned many bird calls as a youth from my grandfather who had an amazing ear. These days, it is unusual to add new ones to my repertoire but this winter there have been so many Redpolls that I am now familiar with their quiet “cha-cha-cha-cha” calls.

WINTER QUOTE

“O light! This is the cry of all the characters of ancient drama brought face to face with their fate. This last resort was ours, too, and I knew it now. In the middle of winter I at last discovered that there was in me an invincible summer.” – Albert Camus

The water in the Little Rouge Creek looks so clear. The paths along the ravine that follows Mimico Creek have been salted this year and a lot more people are walking in the park. Some people are upset because of harm to the environment caused by runoff of salt residue.
