Every time I pass anywhere near Humber Bay East in the cold weather months, I go in for a quick look. On this day, I spent about 30 minutes and here are some of the photographs:

NATURE POETRY
The Moon, like a flower
In heaven’s high bower,
With silent delight
Sits and smiles on the night. – William Blake (1757–1827)

Great as always, Miles! This post is like a primer for winter water birds in Toronto…I tried testing myself with the photos and failed utterly. Must keep studying.
Wow. Did you see all those today, Miles? I’ve seen all but the Pintail there at some point, but not yet this year have I seen a whole bunch of those species at Humber, my favourite place, too, for winter ducks (not that I know all the places you do, I’m quite sure)!
I’m amazed there are so many types of ducks and they all seem to live together in harmony.
I knew it was going to be here. Absolutely stunning! Can we expect a Gadwall-Bufflehead cross, now?
Thank you so much, Miles. I LOVE these gorgeous winter ducks!
