Island Lake Conservation Area: June 2020

I am enjoying discovering natural locations and this place is wonderful. It features a beautifully maintained circular trail and boardwalk which follow the shores of Island Lake just south of Orangeville. Perfect for a long walk, or an hour or so scenic bicycle ride on flat surfaces. There are benches all along the way.

Some botany:

Spreading Dogbane (Apocynum androsaemifolium)
Coltsfoot (Tussilago farfara)
Buttercup (Ranunculus acris)
Pussy Willow (Salix discolor)
Amur Maple (Acer ginnala)
Lakeside Sedge (Carex lacustris)
Morrow Honeysuckle (Lonicera morrowii)
Nannyberry (Viburnum lentago)

And since all this loveliness can not be Heaven,
I know in my heart it is June.                                – Abba Gould Woolson (1838–1921)

    How beautiful!
In spite of the nonsense that happens in this world, there is still much beauty to be found in good Mother Nature.

And those little nature poems are so perfect too.
    Thank you !
