I was unable to photograph the other day due to rain. To make up for that I was out prowling near the Don River just as the sun came up on this morning.

There is a place in South Georgia, near Antarctica, called Gold Harbour. At the beginning of summer there, the sun sets for about one hour and then rises again creating a wonderful golden light.

While working on cruise ships, we would occasionally have a camera club on board and they would want to be ashore at 3 am to take advantage of this light.

Wildlife takes on a colour unlike at any other time of day.

I thought of this today when I saw this robin:
