I visited a dark section of forest on the Oak Ridges Moraine on this chilly morning. Here are some photos:

Scotch Pine I(Pinus sylvestris)
White Pine cone (Pinus strobus)
White Pine (Pinus strobus)
White Birch (Betula papyrifera)
Red Ash (Fraxinus pensylvania)
Red Pine (Pinus resinosa)
Red Pine cone (Pinus resinosa)
Riverbank Grape vine (Vitis riparia)
Haircap Moss with snow
Black Cherry (Prunus serotina)
Balsam Fir (Abies balsamea)
White Spruce (Picea gluaca)

I have received many kind notes such as this one:

Dear Miles,

Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your daily summaries of our beautiful world outdoors. With all this self isolation, your peeks into the beauty of nature are so appreciated.  The addition of poetry a wonderful touch.

Stay well and thank you for this act of kindness!

NATURE POETRY

Daffodils,
That come before the swallow dares, and take
The winds of March with beauty.                           – William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
