Recently, in several of our parks, bat boxes have been hung on tall poles:

Our group saw one this morning in a western park that has some handiwork by a non-bat.

A female Downy Woodpecker has been busy creating an opening to this tempting area for her own purposes.

NATURE POETRY

Snow falling and night falling fast, oh, fast
In a field I looked into going past.
And the ground almost covered smooth in snow,
But a few weeds and stubble showing last.  – Robert Frost (1874–1963)
