To find birds to photograph in June, it is a good idea to go to a location near Lake Ontario. I headed to the Bluffer’s Park area today.
MYSTERY BIRD
I will identify it at the end of the post.
These fluffy Canada Geese goslings are getting quite large now:
Ring-billed Gulls enjoy social and nap time on the beach and elsewhere.
I see lots of Buffalo-berry at Wasaga Beach but the only place I know that it grows in the Toronto area is at the base of the bluffs. It likes some clay in the soil.
Other botany:
MYSTERY BIRD
This largish shore bird with 2 rings around the neck is a Killdeer.
NATURE POETRY
I’ll lie here and learn
How, over their ground,
Trees make a long shadow
And a light sound. – Louise Bogan (1897–1970)
