Brown Thrasher and Palm Warbler: May 2021

The Brown Thrasher is a bird with a strong personality and can easily be heard shouting its couplets from tree tops in the spring. There were several today at Col Sam Smith Park:

MYSTERY BIRD

Many of you will easily recognize the Starling, but I often am asked what the bird with the yellow bill is during nature walks.

European Starling

NATURE POETRY

From you have I been absent in the spring,
When proud-pied April, dressed in all his trim,
Hath put a spirit of youth in everything,
That heavy Saturn laughed and leaped with him.      – William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
