With rain predicted for later in the day, I headed to Crothers Woods in light morning fog to get some photos of its many forest trails and to collect a few twigs to take home for macro photography practice.
Some botany:
The only bird that I had was a Cooper’s Hawk giving its repeated rapid “kih kih kih.”
At home I set up a sort of work place and took these close-ups of twigs from the woods.

I had a very nice walk today down at Humber Bay. Saw hundreds of gulls crowded on huge sheets of ice chattering away to themselves. A few weeks ago, I was there and in addition to some chickadees which fed from my hand, a female cardinal also landed to feed. Her very red partner looked down but was certainly not brave enough! Today, I made sure someone took a photo.
