Most of the time when I am out for a nature walk, I am lucky if I get more than a few photos of the birds around me. There are too many bushes, trees or long grasses to get a good view.
However, in winter at Humber Bay Park, most of the birds are in the lake and out in the open.
On this early January morning I took on the challenge of trying to get a photo of EVERY bird that I could find.
Here is how I did.
#1 Mute Swan
#2 Canada Goose
#3 Mallard
#4 Gadwall
#5 Redhead
#6 Lesser Scaup
#7 Common Goldeneye
#8 Bufflehead
#9 Long-tailed Duck
#10 White-winged Scoter
#11 Common Merganser
#12 Red-breasted Merganser
#13 Ring-billed Gull
#14 Herring Gull
#15 Rock Pigeon
#16 Black-capped Chickadee
#17 House Sparrow
#18 Northern Cardinal
#19 Golden-crowned Kinglet
I did have 2 other species which were too quick for me to obtain photos: #20 Downy Woodpecker and #21 European Starling.
